Everything agencies askbefore the first call.
If an answer below sounds hedged, that is deliberate. The hedge is usually the accurate part. Anything these do not cover, write to wynand@tapnet.co.za.
Measurement
Where the numbers come from and how far they can be pushed.
By sampling. We run a defined set of prompts against each supported engine on a schedule, then parse the responses for brand mentions, the position a brand occupies in the answer, and the sources cited. Visibility is the share of sampled responses in which a brand appears. Because generative responses vary between runs, every figure is a sample estimate over a window rather than a census, and we show the number of observations behind each one.
Accurate as a trend, approximate as an absolute. Generative answers differ between users, sessions, regions and model versions, so a single observation proves little. Sampling the same prompts consistently over time gives a reliable direction of travel. We report sample sizes and windows so you can judge confidence yourself, and we would rather show a wide interval than a precise-looking number we cannot stand behind.
ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Microsoft Copilot at launch. Coverage depends on what each provider exposes, which changes; where an engine limits what can be observed, we say so in the interface rather than filling the gap with an estimate.
Priority prompts refresh daily on Growth and Scale, and weekly on Starter. Technical crawls run weekly by default and can be triggered on demand. Connected search data follows the source platform’s own reporting lag.
Fit and workflow
How it sits alongside the tools and processes you already have.
No, and we would not claim otherwise. Those platforms hold far deeper keyword and backlink indexes than we do. We connect your client’s own search data, layer AI search measurement on top of it, and turn the combination into prioritised actions across a portfolio. Most agencies keep a research tool and use us as the operating layer.
That is the primary use case. Each client is an isolated workspace with its own prompts, competitors and reports, and the portfolio view sits above all of them so you can find the exceptions without opening each one. Team seats are unlimited on every plan.
On Growth and Scale. You can apply your agency’s logo, colours and sender details, publish to a custom domain, and share read-only client links that require no login.
Search Console and GA4 connections are on the roadmap and are not live yet. Nothing on this site is marked as an available integration until it actually ships.
Limits
The two answers most likely to disqualify us, stated plainly.
No. It produces prioritised recommendations, briefs and technical findings for your team to act on. We think automatic edits to a client’s site is the wrong place to remove human judgement, and it is not something we build.
Visibility moves, sometimes sharply, and it is important to know whether the cause was your client, a competitor or the model. We version the measurement window, annotate the timeline when we detect a step change in engine behaviour, and keep historical data intact so you can compare like with like.
